What is the CCMS login?
The Client and Cost Management System (CCMS) is an online system which can be used by fee earners, costs draftsmen and costs lawyers, provided they have been granted the necessary access by a legal aid provider.
This system can be accessed using the CCMS login portal and is used for all aspects of legal aid work, including the submission of legal aid applications and managing bills. With regards to costs, fixed costs claims can easily be prepared and submitted on a case-by-case basis.
Can exceptional costs claims be dealt with via CCMS Login?
Exceptional costs claims can be dealt with through the Client and Cost Management System (CCMS) for legal aid cases in the UK. The submission should be supported by evidence, such as detailed time records, case complexity explanations, or expert reports that justify the higher-than-usual costs.
The Legal Aid Agency (LAA) will review the exceptional costs application. They may request additional documentation or clarification before deciding whether to approve or reject the claim.
Once approved, claims for exceptional costs can be submitted through CCMS, with the relevant billing documentation uploaded for review.
